Press Release Summary = PATTINSON PROVES CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME


Press Release Body = The North East\'s largest independent estate agency, Pattinson, has raised a
substantial sum for St Oswald\'s Hopice, an organisation which provides care for
adults and children with life limiting conditions.



A total of £3000 was raised on the night of its monthly auction by inviting guests
to bid on items which had been donated by various companies who work alongside
Pattinson. With 166 lots, July\'s auction was one of the biggest yet and Pattinson
also donated a percentage of the sales fee of every auction sale achieved on the
night.



Members of the public were also able to help raise money for the Hospice either by
calling Pattinson\'s extended hours customer care centre and giving a card donation
or visiting one of its 30 branches region-wide and leaving a cash donation in the
money buckets.



Items auctioned off on the night included a week\'s stay in a luxury villa in Spain,
a round of golf at Slaley Hall a selection of vintage wine and champagne, a luxury
hamper and a limited edition painting of the Angel of the North.



Keith Pattinson, Chairman of Pattinson, said: \"There was a huge turnout at the
auction and the atmosphere was terrific! Through the generosity of the general
public, our valued customers, clients and staff, we were able to raise this large
sum of money which will be invaluable to the hospice as they rely heavily on
charitable donations.



\"We look forward to raising more money for St Oswalds in the future, be it through
our monthly auctions or other fundraising initiatives, after spending a lot of time
with staff and patients here, it\'s clear to see the hospice is a valuable and much
needed resource.\"



Debbie Hamilton, Director of Fundraising, St Oswald\'s Hospice said: \"We really
appreciate the hard work and preparation that Pattinson have put in to raise this
money for the hospice.



\"As a registered charity, we rely heavily on people\'s kindness and generosity. Our
annual running costs now exceed £6 million, of which £4.5 million needs to be raised
through charitable giving.



\"We are always very grateful to all of our supporters and donors - without them, we
simply could not continue to provide our services, and care for local adults and
children with life limiting conditions.
